چکیده

Ultra-high-pressure (UHP) eclogites and ultramafites associated fluid inclusions from the Western Gneiss Region, Norwegian Caledonides, have been analysed for F, Cl, Br I using electron-probe micro-analysis, time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry neutron-irradiated noble gas spectrometry. Textures of multi-phase in cores silicate grains indicate formation during growth host crystal at UHP. Halogens are predominantly hosted by with a minor component mineral such as biotite, phengite, amphibole apatite. The reconstructed composition contains between 11.3 12.1 wt% 870 8900 ppm 6 169 I. F/Cl ratios efficient fractionation F Cl hydrous crystallisation. Heavy halogen higher than modern seawater up to two orders magnitude Br/Cl three I/Cl. No correlation exists or I, while show good correlation, suggesting that behaved differently subduction. Evolution is similar trends defined eclogitic hydration reactions evaporation, indicating preferential removal UHP metamorphism. This study, analogy, offers field model an alternative source (continental crust) mechanism (metasomatism partial melts supercritical fluids) which halogens may be transferred stored sub-continental lithospheric mantle transient subduction continental margin.

Diffusion versus recrystallization processes in Rb–Sr geochronology: Isotopic relics in eclogite facies rocks, Western Gneiss Region, Norway

Rb–Sr and U–Pb isotopic data for granulite facies rocks, forming textural relics with respect to eclogite facies metamorphism in the Western Gneiss Region (WGR) of Norway, highlight the importance of textures and mineral reaction kinetics for the interpretation of geochronological data. Studied rocks from Bårdsholmen, southern WGR, were subjected to granulite facies metamorphism at 955 ± 3 Ma (...

Discrete ultrahigh-pressure domains in the Western Gneiss Region, Norway: implications for formation and exhumation

New eclogite localities and new Ar/Ar ages within the Western Gneiss Region of Norway define three discrete ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) domains that are separated by distinctly lower pressure, eclogite facies rocks. The sizes of the UHP domains range from c. 2500 to 100 km; if the UHP culminations are part of a continuous sheet at depth, the Western Gneiss Region UHP terrane has minimum dimensions...

Exhumation of high-pressure rocks beneath the Solund Basin, Western Gneiss Region of Norway

The Solund–Hyllestad–Lavik area affords an excellent opportunity to understand the ultrahigh-pressure Scandian orogeny because it contains a near-complete record of ophiolite emplacement, high-pressure metamorphism and large-scale extension. In this area, the Upper Allochthon was intruded by the c. 434 Ma Sogneskollen granodiorite and thrust eastward over the Middle ⁄ Lower Allochthon, probably...

High-temperature deformation during continental-margin subduction & exhumation: The ultrahigh-pressure Western Gneiss Region of Norway

A new dataset for the high-pressure to ultrahigh-pressure Western Gneiss Region allows the definition of distinct structural and petrological domains.Much of the study area is an E-dippinghomoclinewith E-plunging lineations that exposes progressively deeper, more strongly deformed, more eclogite-rich structural levels westward. Although eclogites crop out across the WGR, Scandian deformation is...

On the metamorphic facies of the Dahomeyan gneiss in the western Accra Plains, Ghana

SUMMA R Y. In the Dahomeyan of the western Accra Plains marie gneisses, amphibolites, and orthoamphibolite dykes in granitic gneiss occur. During the latest recrystallization, metamorphic conditions ranged (north to south) from oligoclase--epidote amphibolite subfacies through andesineepidote amphibolite subfacies to at least the medium or upper part of the amphibolite facies. Chemical analyses...
